It begins in the glaciers of the “Roof of the World,”carves its way through lofty mountains and deep gorges,nourishes vast plains and fertile fields,and journeys thousands of miles into the sea.The Yangtze River has not only shaped China’s history,but also, in the long course of human civilization,connects the past with the future,bridges the East with the world,and writes a splendid chapter of harmony in diversity and beauty in shared prosperity.
當(dāng)美索不達(dá)米亞的楔形文字在陶板上凝固，長(zhǎng)江流域的稻作技術(shù)已開始孕育。龍骨坡的石器、河姆渡的骨耜、屈家?guī)X的彩陶、良渚遺址的玉琮...…這些文明的碎片：昭示長(zhǎng)江與尼羅河兩河流域等，一起共同構(gòu)成了人類早期文明的“黃金緯度帶”。
When cuneiform was being carved into clay tablets in Mesopotamia,rice cultivation was already emerging in the Yangtze River Basin.The stone tools of Longgupo,the bone plows of Hemudu,the painted pottery of Qujialing,the jade cong of Liangzhu—these fragments of civilization show that the Yangtze, the Nile, and the Tigris-Euphrates formed part of humanity’s early “Golden Latitude of Civilizations.”
從大溪文化的陶紋到三星堆的金面，從巴渝棧道的鑿痕到江南園林的飛檐，從唐宋的詩(shī)詞歌賦到明清的商幫崛起，這條東方大河，創(chuàng)造了燦爛的文明，也始終是文明互鑒的天然紐帶。
From the pottery patterns of Daxi to the golden masks of Sanxingdui,from the chiselled plank roads in Southwestern China to the flying eaves of gardens in Southern China,from the poetry of the Tang and Song Dynasties to the merchant guilds of the Ming and Qing Dynasties,this great river in the East created a splendid civilization and has always been a natural bond of cultural exchange.

Over a thousand years ago,the Yangtze civilization was already reaching out through the Maritime Silk Road,engaging and blending with the civilizations of India, Arabia, and Europe.Porcelain, silk, tea, and spices wove one of the earliest networks of global trade,while Buddhism, Islamic culture, and Western science flowed into China along the Yangtze’s banks.This spirit of exchange and mutual learning is already in the DNA of the Yangtze civilization.
